Jane has been designing lace for twenty years, often drawing her inspiration from the coastline near her Dorset home.  Her horizons are constantly expanded by exhibiting and teaching at home and abroad, and her patterns are seen many times in the magazine Lace Express.

Jane has been playing with unusual grids for many years, developing processes that can give a Contemporary look to the Torchon technique and provide vehicles for colour and scale.
Jane qualified with Cert. Ed in adult education in 2003, also becoming chairman of the national contemporary lace group, the 98 Lace Group.  Her teaching gives a focus to her experimentation, which was backed by a Southern Arts Bursary in 2000.
