This workshop develops a range of expressive techniques with Pencil & Graphite using best studio practice to define a personal style of working. Combining beautiful evening Slide shows, our activities will achieve a highly individualised understanding of how the Human Figure has been used in Art for generations. Good humoured, supportive interaction underpins our studies, working with professional models over the weekend to give creative satisfaction to our works. Beginners as well as experienced artists are especially welcome.

A course for all experience levels in the fascinating craft of woodcarving. Relief work, sculpture and whittling will all be covered with wood available from the tutor at cost price. Students should be aware that the practical sessions take place at a local school. Transport can be provided for those without a car. Peter is an established tutor and a professional woodcarver with more than twenty years? experience. His interests include countryside crafts and conservation. Peter's "Woodpecker Studio" workshop is based on site at Knuston Hall.
Following an aperitif shortly after 12 noon, a full Christmas meal will be served with all the trimmings in true Knuston style. After the meal there will be a short period to relax followed by mulled wine, mince pies and carols around the Christmas tree, with additional guests from the locality. The emphasis will be on the creation of an informal and relaxed afternoon together at this busy and often hectic time of year. Whether as part of a group, with a partner or friend, or if you simply intend to come along yourself, we look forward to seeing you.

This course is suitable for those who already have a basic knowledge of parchment craft techniques, including tracing, embossing and simple perforating. Participants will be able to choose from a selection of patterns for greetings cards, pictures or technique samplers. Although the emphasis will be on the use of grids to create both perforated and embossed lace designs, we will also be covering various colouring techniques.
